倍数表达法知识点归纳，英语表示倍数的句型结构

Jennifer: How was your trip in Hong Kong , Vicki?

Vicki: Not bad.

Jennifer: I heard that prices there are higher than those in Shanghai. Is it true?

Vicki: Yes, it’s true. Personally speaking, prices in Hong Kong are twice higher than those in Shanghai.

Jennifer: Really? Incredible! How about the transportation and living conditions?

Vicki: The cost of transportation（交通） and accommodation（住宿） is also higher. It’s about three times as high as in Shanghai.

老师：英语中，我们通常使用“基数词+ times”来表达倍数，比如 three times 三倍，four times四倍等。但是一倍和两倍的概念，需使用once和twice来表达。

Molly：哦~我知道了，所以刚刚Vicki说的：

“Prices in Hong Kong are twice higher than those in Shanghai. ”意思就是“香港的物价是上海的两倍”。

老师：倍数的基本表达方式主要有三种：

1. A + 谓语+ 倍数+ 形容词/副词比较级 + than + B

此时表达的概念为“A比B大（长、高、多等）多少倍”

比如：

This rope is twice longer than that one. 这条绳子比那条长两倍。

言下之意就是，这条绳子是那条的三倍长。

Molly：哦~所以刚刚的句子意思是“香港的物价比上海高两倍。”，也就是“香港的物价是上海的三倍。”

老师：Very good！所以在用这种结构表达倍数时，一定要注意和中文区别开，英文倍数要-1哦！

老师：倍数的第二种表达就是：

2.A + 谓语 + 倍数 + as + 形容词/副词原级 + as + B

此时表达的概念为“A正好是B的多少倍”

比如：

Asia is four times as large as Europe. 亚洲的面积是欧洲的四倍。

This big stone is three times as heavy as that one. 这块大石头的重量是那块的三倍。

Molly：所以对话里“It’s about three times as high as in Shanghai.”的意思就是“它的价格是上海的三倍。”

老师：Bingo！倍数的第三种表达方式是：

3.A + 谓语 + 倍数 + the + 名词 + of + B

此时表达的概念也是“A正好是B的多少倍”，名词通常为面积size，长度length，高度height，宽度width等。

比如：

This street is four times the length of that one. 这条街是那条街的四倍长。

This hill is four times the height of that small one. 这座山的高度是那座小山的四倍。
