Inaworldfullofchaos,it'seasytobecomeabsorbedinourownproblemsandforgetaboutthestrugglesofthosearoundus.However,oneperson'ssmallactofkindnesscanmakeaworldofdifferencetosomeoneinneed.ThisisastoryaboutayoungwomannamedLily,wholearnedthejoyofhelpingothersandhowitbroughtherhappinessbeyondmeasure.Lilywasanambitiousyoungwomanwhohadjustgraduatedfromcollege.Shehadabrightfutureaheadofher,butsheoftenfeltsomethingwasmissinginherlife.Oneday,whilewalkinghomefromwork,Lilynoticedahomelessmansittingonthestreetcorner.Helookeddirtyandexhausted,withtornclothesandnoshoes.

Lilyfeltapangofsympathyforthemananddecidedtohelphim.Sheboughthimsomefoodanddrink,andtheystruckupaconversation.Thehomelessman,whosenamewasJack,toldLilyhisstory.Hehadlosthisjobandfamily,andhadbeenlivingonthestreetsformonths.LilywasshockedbyJack'sstoryandrealizedhowfortunateshewastohaveasupportivefamilyandastablejob.ShevowedtohelpJackinanywayshecould.Overthenextfewweeks,LilyvisitedJackregularly,bringinghimfoodandclothing,andlisteningtohisstories.

AsshespentmoretimewithJack,Lilydiscoveredthejoyofhelpingothers.ShesawhowmuchofadifferencehersmallactsofkindnessmadeinJack'slife,anditgaveherasenseofpurpose.LilyalsorealizedthatbyhelpingJack,shewasgainingvaluablelifeexperiencethatshecouldnothavelearnedinaclassroom.SeeinghowmuchJackappreciatedherhelpgaveLilyasenseoffulfillmentthatshehadneverexperiencedbefore.Lilybegantovolunteerathomelesssheltersandfoodbanks,sharinghertimeandresourceswiththoseinneed.
