Alexstartedbysettingsmallgoalsforhimself.Hewouldspendanhoureverydayafterschoolstudyingforeachsubjecthehadfailedin.Itwasn'teasy,buthewasdeterminedtosucceed.ThefirstweekwastoughforAlex.Hestruggledtofocusandstaymotivated,butheknewhecouldn'tgiveup.Heremindedhimselfofhisgoalsandtheconsequencesofnotachievingthem.Slowlybutsurely,Alexbegantoseeimprovementinhisgrades.Hishardworkwaspayingoff,andhefeltproudofhimselfforthefirsttimeinalongwhile.However,theroadtoredemptionwasnotwithoutitsobstacles.Alexfacedmanychallengesalongtheway,includingdistractionsfromfriendsandfamily,andthetemptationtogiveupwhenthingsgottough.

Hefeltgratefulforthepeoplewhohadhelpedhimalongtheway–histeachers,hisfriends,andhisfamily.Heknewhecouldn'thavedoneitwithoutthem.Alex'sjourneyhadbeenalongandchallengingone,butheknewthatithadmadehimabetterperson.Hehadlearnedthevalueofhardwork,dedication,andperseverance.Hefeltlikehehadbeengivenasecondchancetomakesomethingofhimself,andhewasn'tgoingtowasteit.Alex'sredemptionhadnotonlyaffectedhisacademiclifebutalsohispersonallife.Hefeltmoreconfidentinhimselfandwasnolongerafraidtotakeonnewchallenges.
