Asshewalked,shesawanoldmansittingonabench,baskinginthewintersun.Hisfacewaslinedwithage,buthehadapeacefulsmileonhislips.Lilysatdownnexttohim,drawnbyhispeacefulaura.Shedidn'tsayanythingatfirst,buttheoldmanturnedtoherandsaid,"Thesunisshiningbrighttoday,isn'tit?"Lilywassurprisedbyhiswords,butshenoddedinagreement.Theysatthereinsilenceforafewmoments,enjoyingthewarmthofthesun.TheoldmanthenaskedLilywhatwasbotheringher.Lilyhesitatedatfirstbutthenopeneduptohim.Shetoldhimaboutlosingherjobandfeelinglost.

Oneday,LilyandDavid'spathscrossed,andtheyinstantlyrecognizedeachother.Theybothsmiled,feelingadeepconnectionbetweenthem.Theysatdownonabenchtogether,baskinginthewarmwintersun.Theytalkedforhours,sharingtheirstoriesandtheirhopesforthefuture.Asthesunbegantoset,LilyandDavidexchangedphonenumbers.Theyknewthattheyhadfoundsomethingspecialineachother,somethingthatwouldcarrythemthroughtherestoftheirlives.Andso,thewarmthofthewintersunbroughttogethertwostrangers,whofoundhopeandloveineachother.Theyknewthatwhateverlifemaythrowtheirway,theywouldalwayshaveeachotherandthewarmthofthesuntoguidethem.
